If you work on only one type and brand of equipment, you
normally know all of the specific part numbers that you need and
parts ordering is relatively easy. However, keeping your shop full means bringing in multiple types
and brands of equipment - some of which you've never worked on
before. When working on unfamiliar equipment, you normally don't
have the necessary breakdowns or specific part numbers at your
disposal. This means you will be relying on someone else to
provide you with the correct parts and services.
When repairing industrial transmissions, engines and torque
converters, it's well known that you can rely on Joseph
Industries to provide you with the quality parts and services
you need and deserve. In most cases, the knowledge we've
gathered over the last 60 years allows us to quote you cost
effective parts and services quickly and accurately, thus saving
you money and time.
There are many types, brands and variations of
equipment (see our brand selection below), so you will need to furnish information that
will provide us the necessary details for proper identification and quoting. Joseph Industries
will guide you with identification questions when
you order parts and services for equipment you aren't
intimately familiar with.
The first question you'll probably be asked is "What is the
make and model of the actual equipment?". On most equipment,
this information will appear on the vehicle data plate which is
mounted in full view, usually near the operator position. Some
equipment will also have this information located on the frame. If you can locate the vehicle service manual, it usually
has the vehicle identification plate location listed, as well as
the actual information you need. On most occasions, having this
information will
allow us to quickly and correctly identify and quote
the parts you need.
If it's a transmission, engine or torque converter related
repair or replacement, the make and model of
the equipment alone won't always provide enough information for a proper quote.
Sometimes there are internal and external
differences that are not obvious. Our experience will help you overcome these potential
hazards and will increase your chance of ordering
the correct part.
Transmission and engine identification is
not always easy, but by working together
we can help you succeed. We do believe you'll agree that the
time and money you save, along with the satisfaction you
gain when the proper item is received, is infinitely more
enjoyable than the alternative. Joseph Industries is here
for you.

Joseph Tech Tip:
When installing transmissions and engines, or just
replacing the torque converter, its always a good idea to check the
engine crank thrust to insure it is within specifications. If it is
out of specification, it can cause damage to the flex plate and
torque converter, as well as the transmission pump.
